This section covers in general all user support. If a PC/laptop presents issues with printing, web browsing problems, slow performance, assistance with installing an application, or troubleshooting the behaviour of an application, we can perform this support. We have experience in all Windows desktop platforms such as Windows 7 and Windows 10. If required, we can support Apple IOS products. Customers on a retainer/managed services agreement, may have their desktops/laptop monitored 24/7 with our remote monitoring management tool. We will receive real-time alerts in case a hardware issue becomes a problem.

If required to migrate a PC to a newer platform, we will migrate all data and applications, and user profiles into the new PC/laptop. Preventative maintenance is also performed on the user stations. This covers removal of unwanted programs, disk checking, defrag services, temp file removals, verification of user permissions, making sure anti-virus program are up to date, and malware scans/removal.

This section covers what is commonly known as the “back-end” services. We manage the servers within an organization. Servers are commonly managed on the hardware and software level. The management includes the network services required to make a network function properly. This includes network services such as DHCP, DNS, and WINS. Examples of software level services that we manage are Active Directory Services in the event of a Windows Domain Controller. Print services in the event of a print server, and file services in the event of a file server, and application support services in the event of an application server. We also have the experience and expertise necessary to build a server with redundancy/fault tolerance through the use of RAID 1, RAID5, and RAID10.

Virtualization has become a standard technology deployment solution in recent years, and we deploy and support technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V to host virtual servers. We also deploy and support VMware to host virtual servers. In some cases, the business needs require a “high-availability” server configuration with multiple server hosts and storage technologies. We have the experience and staff to design, configure and support these infrastructures.

One of the common requests that we receive is the assistance of designing and implementing a new network environment. We assist the customer from understanding their business needs and requirements, to later assist in the design and quotation/procurement of the required hardware and software. Once all the hardware is in place at the customer site, we then begin to install and configure all of the new equipment and make it ready for use. This is can be a simple network, to a more complex infrastructure depending on the needs of the environment. Many customers have a need to connect remotely to the corporate office, thus we implement VPN connections from laptops in order to achieve this goal.

If there are ISP failures, we get in contact with the ISP to understand what is the trouble and the ETA of resolution. This can be minimized by the deployment of a dual-wan firewall in which will serve as a ISP backup in case the primary internet service were to fail. Also, in a virtualized environment, we can provide offsite replication of the production virtual servers in order to serve as a backup disaster recovery solution.
