Job Description

• Candidate must have experience with CNC lathes as well as setting up and boring jaws to hold runout tolerances OR

• Candidate must have experience with CNC Mills including setting up and running production as well as first article inspection

• Material working with: Mainly aluminum some stainless steel and a handful of titanium jobs
• Tolerances: .0002” on bore and similar tolerances for runout as these are rotating assembly details that spin at greater than 70,000 RPM.
• CNC Equipment: Ikegai lathes, TU15 model. 
• Controls Used: Early Fanuc controllers
• Manual or not: CNC
• Will they be programming: No all programs have been established for many years but some small updates to G code might be required based on best practices or preference from previous operators. 
• This will be provided with each jobs data package. 
• Job shop or Production: Production

Other things to note:

• This is that this is a low volume high mix production environment with multiple setups required daily
• Machinists are expected to be able to manage up to 3 machines simultaneously to support work cell and if that is not manageable we will need more resources to support the area.
• We do not have first piece inspectors and machinists are expected to be able to verify and sign off on all aspects of the operation in adherence of the requirements.  
• This included linear, outside diameter, inside diameter, runout, etc.
• Experience with air gauging to verify tight tolerance bores is a plus
 
• Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts by operating mechanical equipment. 
• Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units. Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. 
• High school diploma is a plus. 
• May be required to meet certain certifications in field and to have at least 2-4 years of experience. 
• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. 
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 
• Works under immediate supervision. 
• Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. 
• Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. 

Special Considerations: 

• Lifting will exceed 30 Lbs. and/or repetitions of this or lesser weights will be significant. 
• Exposure to substantial machine, chemical, biological or other physical risks are anticipated.
