• Any understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and requirements including casting, machining, welding, heat treatment?
• Required to have excellent communication skills (written and oral) to interact with engineering teams, other disciplines, and external (supplier or customer) parties.

• The Sr Advanced Engineer position will be responsible to conduct all evaluations performed on FanC components and systems for a team of Engineers supporting Production, Supplier Transition / Reposition and Value Engineering initiatives, including Quality (FAIR, RMRAs, QNs), Drawing Interpretation, Supplier substantiation (ESA, STICS, STR, FTR, SCS), and Design Change (ECN, EMA, Deviation Waiver) Processes.

• The Sr Advanced engineer must be adept at performing a functional evaluation (Identification of engine boundary conditions, design requirements) across multiple engine models and part families. 
• He will be conducting 3D finite element thermal, stress and modal analyses, strength, vibration, stress rupture, deflection, and life evaluations. 
• In addition, he must have sufficient Engines and APU design and manufacturing experience to provide the necessary problem-solving guidance to the team.

• The applicant must be able to thrive in an Agile environment and successfully work with local and global analysis teams, create statements of work, review analysis output, and communicate effectively with manufacturing personnel, suppliers, customers, and Chief engineers.

• Supporting process transformation to reduce design and manufacturing cost and cycle time is an important aspect of the position.

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Knowledge of the gas turbine engine industry, specifically in regard to how the design requirements are communicated and maintained in production, through the following processes:

• Quality Processes, including inspection methodologies, FAIR & RMRA review.
• Supplier Substantiation Processes, including ESA, STICS, STR, FTR, SCS documentation.
• Design Change Processes, including ECNs, EMAs, etc.
• Proven understanding and application of fatigue, and finite element analysis
• Capability of performing complex analyses and hand calculations of engine FanC components
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to interact with engineering teams, other disciplines, and external (supplier or customer) parties.
• FEA (ANSYS or equivalent), 3D modeling (CAD), and GOM analysis (Structured light scan) of gas turbine engine FanC components.
