JOB SUMMARY

• Responsible for assisting the operator in all activities associated with running the folder gluer including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Primary Duties

• Accurate and efficient set-up of all folding and gluing operations of the machine in accordance with proper setup techniques
• Minimize waste of sheet stock and glue
• Properly operate machine to run efficiently and produce quality products
• Ensure diagonal and corrugator scores are broken when necessary
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed
• Assist in training all Post job positions
• Learn to run a variety of box styles
• Check quality of boxes during the run, including - mis-slotted boxes, loose liner, misprints, and any other defects
• Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data
• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment
• Adheres to production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
• Additional duties may be assigned by management

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• HS Diploma or GED
• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry
• 6+ months experiences in the Press and Finishing Departments, preferred
• 6+ months experience as a Helper – preferred
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. 
• Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• To successfully perform the essential functions of this role it requires the ability to: stand for long periods, walk frequently, squat, climb, bend, crouch, push-pull, carry, work at heights, frequent use of hands (reach with hands and arms), view computer monitor, use radio, speak and listen frequently. 
• Role requires ability to work in environment of excessive heat or cold, walking on uneven surfaces and frequent lifting up to 20 pounds.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will encounter noise level typical of that of a manufacturing plant. 
• Proper PPE is required.
