This positions requires Insulators, Tube Fitters and Assembly.
JOB OBJECTIVE: • Assembles units, or components for units by performing one or a combination of related and constantly recurring production/fabrication line activities in a safe manner with quality workmanship. • The position may also involve the operation of equipment (requiring mechanical skills), cranes or forklifts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Wrap units with insulation material . Includes cutting and measuring material for placement on unit • Fits, adjusts, installs or fastens unit or component parts to a unit. • Wraps units by using a heat gun. • Prepares units for shipping. • Cleans equipment • Performs housekeeping and other duties as required. • Bend, form and install all tubing on units. • Do tubing layout of unit in accordance with blueprints in shop packets. • Identify and install valves and / or devices on unit
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: • Manufacturing – Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, cold/heat (indoor), cold/heat (outdoor). • Job hazards of working around heavy equipment and machinery.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Tape measure, small hand tools, power tools, crane, brazing torch.
QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of hand tools. • Read measuring tape. Good hand dexterity required to fit and assemble product. • Some judgment required. • Perform math at a level normally acquired through completion of high school. • Ability to maintain clean and safe work area and/or equipment as required.
Depending on the type of Assembler, this person must be able to qualify in one (1) of the following processes: A. Insulation B. PSI Testing C. Tube Rolling D. Hydro Testing E. Cable Assembly F. Heat Gun
