Overview • We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Systems Administrator with deep expertise in VMware virtualization and Linux/Unix systems administration. • This role is a critical member of our Data Center and ERP Hosting Operations team, responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and resilience of a fully virtualized infrastructure supporting mission critical enterprise applications. • The ideal candidate is a seasoned technologist who thrives in complex environments, excels at advanced troubleshooting, and consistently drives operational excellence across large scale systems.
Key Responsibilities
Virtualization & Systems Administration • Install, configure, and upgrade VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSphere, and related components. • Administer and support Linux/Unix operating systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. • Evaluate, test, and deploy software releases, patches, and system upgrades. • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, OS, and virtualization issues with minimal supervision.
Infrastructure Operations & Reliability • Perform regular system backups, recovery operations, and business continuity activities. • Monitor system performance, capacity, and configuration to ensure high availability and data integrity. • Maintain comprehensive system documentation, operational procedures, and environment inventories.
Troubleshooting & Technical Leadership • Serve as the team’s VMware/virtualization SME, leading advanced triage, root cause analysis, and resolution of high visibility issues. • Collaborate with cross functional partners (application, database, network, and security teams) to address multi layered technical problems. • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
Project & Strategic Initiative Support • Provide infrastructure support for high priority programs, ensuring technical readiness, compliance, and alignment with delivery timelines. • Help maintain operational coverage and continuity during periods of resource gaps or organizational transitions. • Contribute to long term planning efforts to strengthen operational stability during major transformation initiatives.
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 4–6+ years of hands on experience with Linux/Unix administration and enterprise virtualization. • Strong proficiency in VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSphere, and related technologies. • Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure operations concepts, practices, and procedures. • Demonstrated ability to work independently while applying strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills. • Experience supporting ERP or other mission critical enterprise systems is a significant plus. • US Citizen or US Person
