Description: Title: Transportation Coordinator Experience: 2 or more years
Responsibilities: • Manage and communicate carrier execution of cost effective load coverage for on-time pickup and delivery through plants, warehouses, customers, recycle centers and suppliers • Identifies and improves deficiencies in carrier routing guides and tendering process to ensure lowest cost carrier • Leads and participates in carrier scorecards calls and carrier meetings to improve service and reduce cost with carrier partners • Gather and interpret relevant data to take ownership in: • Reducing plant lead time • Carrier trailer pool reporting and management • Primary carrier lane acceptance and spot bid reduction • Takes ownership in participating and supporting business and transportation through lead & core flow planning • Develop daily reporting to effectively lead communicating between carriers and plants/3PLs • Reviews, questions and approves/deny carrier accessorial charges to reduce expenses • Assist appropriate parties with Track & Trace visibility and follow up • Assists with development of reporting as needed • Provides analytical support for projects, new business opportunities and proposals • Support cross border Mexico loads • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: • Exceptionally strong people and customer service skills to enhance customer experience • High level quantitative and analytical skills • Familiar with logistics and production planning concepts (just-in-time manufacturing, materials requirements, network optimization) • Computer skills to include excel, power point, and access database. • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities • Self-motivated and directed • Comfortable working with individuals at all organizational levels and flexible to changing priorities • SAP / Oracle experience is helpful |
