Job Description

Hardware Project Engineer 

* This is an exciting time to join Engineering Hardware Management Team. 

* Be part of an engineering team that is shape the future of Mechanical products working on multiple new development programs. 

* Candidate will work closely with engineering leadership on managing the development hardware process and work with multiple cross-functional teams. 

* Candidate will help coordinate SAP demand entry, act as a liaison between engineering groups, new product sourcing, suppliers and manufacturing, and provide data reporting for both internal and external customers.

* Candidate will help improve Project Engineering schedule fidelity and milestone compliance for development hardware. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Generate and manage hardware orders within SAP and coordinate the reporting requirements with the Project Engineering Program leads. 

Coordinate material expedites, prioritization, allocation and critical response to customer requirements and Engineering needs. 

Reconciles budget forecast for hardware spend with actual hardware plan provided by development engineering group. Reconciles actual program hardware expense with deliveries. 

Manages portfolio of orders on a program such that the orders are properly received and transacted in SAP. 

Provide all required material availability and status reports for material delivery for both internal and external procured material. 

Support program objectives through participation in line‐of‐balance (LOB) and material change process reporting 

Validate Engineering Project demand to ensure SAP cost commitments are in line with program budgets 

Work with the ISC to ensure all NPD demand is maintained in project stock and all plant stock orders are moved plant inventory in a timely manner. 

Document and publish lessons learned 

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or Business-related discipline. 

5 to 10 years’ experience in Project or Systems Engineering. 

2+ years’ experience in SAP and EBP or other Enterprise procurement software. 

2+ years of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 

Must have a passion for winning and bias for action 

Due to ITAR and software requirements, candidate must be US Citizen. 

Additional Qualifications: 

Good communications skills and be able to work well in a team environment 

Earned Value Mgmt. System (EVMS) 

Project creation and management ‐ Project scheduling and financial reporting. 

Database Mgmt. ‐ Ad hoc reporting (excel, access, PowerPoint). 

Visual Basic in Microsoft Excel 

Teamcenter, ECR/ECO Process, EBOM, SCS/ASL 

Experience in working cross‐functionally with a larger Engineering Organization and multiple sites highly desired 

Adept at SAP problem solving; effective decision making and innovation 

Driven to product improvement; responsive; has a service mentality; achieves quality results 

Promote customer satisfaction with capability to establish strong business and interpersonal relationships with customers and suppliers

Able to prioritize and resolve conflicting due dates
