FABRICATION MANAGER 

IMMEDIATE NEED!!! 

Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written both in English and Spanish is a must. 

The Fabrication Manager will be responsible for overall production of complex module fabrication and assembly at fabrication shop in Mexico. This position requires in-depth knowledge of steel & pipe fabrication and assembly of modules. The Fabrication Manager will be responsible to manage the fabrication team of 8-10 employees directly in fabrication yard. The Fabrication Manager will report to Project Manager on daily basis on project progress. The ideal candidate will have a background in fabrication and welding and have the drive, organizational, and leadership skills required to lead a dedicated team at assembly yard. 

***** This position will start from Des Plaines, Illinois but eventually fabrication manager will be required a deployment of more than one year in Tampico, Mexico in fabrication yard.******** 

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB 
Essential Functions 
Manage the overall activities of module fabrication at fabrication yard 
Maintain the client HSE and Quality standards. Ensure the implementation of all the HSE procedures and standards for all activities. Directly participate in the HSE activities at site as defined in the Site HSE plan 
Participate in 3D model reviews and provide inputs to reduce the issues during fabrication 
Manage the subcontractors of steel & piping fabrication either engaged by client or fabricator 
Coordinate with Project Manager to report work progress and schedule or budget matters 
Close coordination with fabricator on daily basis and participate in all the required meetings 
Manage a fabrication team of 8-10 employee in fabrication yard 
Ability to understand project schedule and develop progress matrix and curves 
Employ organizational skills that effectively minimize obstacles that negatively impact the project. When obstacles arise, employ sound decision making/problem solving skills to resolve the issue 
Manage the 3rd party inspectors directly while coordinating with quality department in back office 
Coordinate with other departments to schedule manpower as needed 
Coordinate with client team at site for all the requirements to keep the project on track. 
Manage free issue material at fabrication yard with his team members 
Incorporate positive interpersonal skills when communicating or interacting with customers, subcontractors, vendors, craft, and others 
Review budgets, work schedules and manage change orders effectively 
Proficiently interpret and explain technical information to other professionals. Detect any design errors and engage Engineers if need be to make the necessary changes 
Willing to relocate in Mexico and travel up to 25% of the time both domestically and internationally.

Identify and distinguish color to evaluate color-coded identification systems and NDT results. 

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 
Knowledge: 
BS in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, 
Piping Engineering, Structural Engineering or commensurate work experience in a supervisory role 
10 or more years of experience in industrial construction of Gas processing plants. 
Fully capable of multi-discipline drawing interpretation and P&ID understanding. 
Knowledge of ASME and AWS Codes, welding processes, metals and metallurgy 
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and codes, and their impact on project activities 
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written both in English and Spanish is a must 
Ability to work within a team with demonstrated strong interpersonal skills 
Demonstrated self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution
