Responsibilities:- • Responsible for pipe support component selection and pipe support design criteria • - Consult with Sub-Contracted Detail Design firms on piping engineering concerns. • - Consult with Sub-Contracted Detail Design firms on Piping Stress issues • - Review and comment on stress reports • - Review and comment on fabrication documentation • - Perform and evaluate piping stress analysis (using CAESAR II Software) with minimal supervision. • - This work typically requires reviewing stress analysis done by others, but sometimes also requires developing the model for isometrics. • - Attend site visits to provide clarification and interpretations of drawings and specifications and troubleshoot piping support systems • - Participate in system design activities such as: • P&ID development • Piping Material and Valve Specifications • Piping Line Indices • Fluid system hydraulic calculations • Prepare requisitions for procurement of Piping Specialty items and pipe supports • Involved in bid evaluation of requisitioned components • Review and approve contractor documents and drawings • Insulation thickness tables and specifications Basic Qualifications:- • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and 6-10 years experience in the design and flexibility analysis of chemical plant or petroleum refinery piping systems Additional Qualifications:- • Knowledge and experience in using CAESAR II Stress analysis software, especially for high temperature application using expansion joints, spring hangers and other means of accommodating thermal expansion •- Knowledge and experience in using applicable codes such as: ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5 and ASME Sections I & VIII and API, ANSI, MSS etc • - Experience in reviewing engineering design data for completeness and consistency prior to completion of Issue for Fabrication releases •- Familiarity with Petroleum Refinery Piping materials with respect to piping and related components •- Multi-tasking abilities to maintain contributions on schedule for several projects simultaneously •- Ability to communicate well with suppliers in both written and verbally •- Ability to work well in a team environment • *** Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is required • *** 6-10 years experience in the design and flexibility analysis of chemical plant or petroleum refinery piping systems • *** Knowledge and experience in using CAESAR II Stress analysis software, especially for high temperature application using expansion joints, spring hangers and other means of accommodating thermal expansion • *** Knowledge and experience in using applicable codes such as: ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5 and ASME Sections I & VIII and API, ANSI, MSS etc • *** Familiarity with Petroleum Refinery Piping materials with respect to piping and related components
