Responsibilities: • Fill out Certificates of Analysis (COAs) • Fill out approximately 50 – 75 COAs on an average day. • Each one takes about 3 to 5 minutes. • Use of computer keyboard and mouse. • Reaching at or below shoulder height while sitting. • Stand up to retrieve printed COAs and fax to customers. • Lab equipment calibration • Documenting balance calibrations, oven temperatures, and analytical equipment calibrations. • Data is hand-written in logs or typed in a spreadsheet on the computer. • Standing or sitting while reading digital displays. • Incoming Ingredient management • COAs are verified on incoming ingredients against standards and released for use. • Sitting or standing to put records in a 3-ring binder; using a 3-hole punch. • Miscellaneous data entry/ lab tasks • Perform small data entry tasks when required. • Sitting at a computer, using a keyboard or mouse. • May involve reaching at or below shoulder height while sitting, or opening file cabinet drawers. • Checking inventory of lab equipment and chemicals in cabinets or closets. • Update an inventory spreadsheet in a computer. • Preparing sample bags and documentation for special mill samples; using a logbook or 3-ring binder. • Dusting of equipment and work spaces • Using “dust hands” to clean lab area. • Standing while wiping counters or shelves at waist or shoulder height. • Moving small items to clean under or around. • Ingredient feeders check • Check ingredient feeder rates in Blend Plant. • Place a scoop under feeder and turn start switch on panel. • Time for 60 seconds (switch off) and measure weight (approx. 5-10 oz) using a digital scale. • Enter data for 5-10 feeders into a spreadsheet. |
