Tasks and Duties:
• Assist developers in the Convenience and Beverage Applications teams in bench-top and pilot plant processing, e.g. ingredient scale-up, getting equipment ready before testing, and post-test clean-up
• Perform basic physical and analytical analysis
• Ability to manage multiple tasks on a deadline basis
• Maintain ingredient and chemical storage in accordance with food safety guidelines
• Maintain pilot plant equipment and all areas utilized by lab
• Compliance with Company Food Safety and EH&S policies
• Document and protect all information to protect and ensure any and all patentable advances in technology as required by company policy. Have the ability to work with minimal supervision. Understand the scope of sensory projects and expectations
• Check supplies and order as necessary
• Must be able to work effectively with a team as well as independently and possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Job Qualifications
Required:
• Associates Science Degree
• Basic food ingredient and processing knowledge
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Takes initiative in technical problem solving
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work in a lab environment and maintain good food manufacturing practice
• Ability to lift weights up to 10-15 lbs. and perform other necessary physical requirements of job
Preferred:
• Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related field
• Food lab experience
