The Mechanical Engineer implements mechanical projects for integrated systems or sub-systems. The Mechanical Engineer provides input to and contributes to the planning, design, testing, reporting and implementation of newly developed products or product enhancements.
Essential functions of this position include: • Participates in initial System Development Spec Review • Contributes to system architecture, description of operation, functional specifications, and interface documents • Adheres to and validates project specifications while maintaining as-sold scope • Assists the Lead Engineer in the execution of drawings and bill of material design, detail, load, assembly, application), required calculations, sales orders and other required project work • Maintains and tracks issues list and reports progress to Lead Engineer • Participates in drawing review meetings • Participates in design reviews for safety, adherence to specs, design for manufacturing and assembly, FMEA, etc • Participates in developing and executing test plans on-site, and documenting results in formal test reports • Participates in lessons learned post-mortem engineering review • Understands project phasing, including proof of concept, research, design, testing and standardization • Attends weekly team meetings, reviews scheduled tasks/timeliness • Contributes to test plans (functional, proof-of-concept, durability, MTBF, etc) • Travels to customer sites as required to diagnose and address field issues • Provides site/field reports daily, including progress, issues and next steps. Communicates and brings to closure all internal and customer created issue lists • Effectively communicates with upstream and downstream departments for accurate and effective turnover of projects from one phase to the next Desired Skills, Education and Experience : • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience • Strong engineering fundamentals and mechanical aptitude • A minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on Mechanical Engineering experience • Strong Organizational and Time Management skills • Above average Problem Solving ability and attention to detail • The ability to communicate in an effective, clear and concise manner • Intermediate to advanced skills using Solidworks or equivalent 3D modeling software Comment:- Need to have Mechanical aptitude and ability to think outside of the box. Day to Day Responsibilities: - Work with Principal and Sr. Engineers -Work 2 different roles(Computer based CAD and Solidworks) - Work on new product design material -Test prototype equipment -Run tests -Collect data and asses results -Figure out application limits -Use oracle to upload drawings, drawing revisions, new parts - Sourcing new products May travel every now and then
